Where Active Living Takes Root

Claresholm boasts a wealth of recreational facilities for you! Dive into our indoor pool at the aquatic centre, cool off at our seasonal spray park, or stroll our parks and walking paths. Hit the ice in our rinks, or team up on our diamonds, courts and fields. Kickflip your way through our skate park or rope some action at our Agriplex. Arena

The Claresholm Arena opened in 1982, and in 2018 the Arena Floor, and rink boards were replaced with support from the community. Home of Claresholm Minor Hockey, Claresholm Skating Club, Rockmen Lacrosse, and the Annual Bench Show held over Claresholm Fair days the 2nd week of August. Arena ice was ready on Monday, September 28, 2020.

Physical distancing rules are in place as per Alberta Health Services. All users are required to reserve online prior to the skating time, please scroll down for Reservations, descriptions are under the headings. For a full listing of what is happening at the Arena, the Google Calendar is available under Reservations. All rentals require a User Agreement, a reservation, and confirmation from the Town of Claresholm, we ask that you book a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the booking to ensure staffing. 

As per the Town of Claresholm, all persons not on the ice surface are required to wear a mask in the facility.

Hours of Operation: 
Monday to Thursday - 3:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Friday - 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. (subject to change)
Saturday & Sunday - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Reservations: For all available Public Slots

*25 people maximum on ice to maintain physical distancing, youth 17 and under must have an adult attend to fill out the screening document. Youth 12 and under should have a parent attend the skate time.

Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your skate time, we understand that you'll need to put on equipment. This time frame allows Arena Attendants time to prepare the facility for the next group. 

All groups and spectators will be responsible to complete a Screening Check prior to accessing the facility. This is in compliance with Alberta Health Guidance documents, and will be held for a minimum of 4 weeks.
