REGISTER TO VOTE

All voters must be on the permanent Electors Registry. To register to vote or check to see if you are registered to vote, visit Voterlink.


A person is eligible to vote if the person:

In order to vote, your name or the name of the person vouching for you, must appear on the list of electors. If your name does not appear on the list of electors, the person vouching for you must produce identification for inspection. The identification must be one or more of:

as required by Section 53 of the Local Authorities Election Act or local bylaw.


2025 is Municipal Election Year

Municipal Elections in Alberta take place every four years, and 2025 is an Election year.  The next Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025.

If you or someone you know is considering serving on your local council, this webinar is for you! Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) and the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) are hosting free webinars to help prospective candidates understand what it’s like to serve on a municipal council.      

During this interactive webinar, you’ll learn about:

• The impact and rewards of serving your community 
• Firsthand experiences from current municipal leaders 

There will also be a Q&A session where you can ask questions and gain valuable insights into the experience of being a municipal elected official. Each webinar is catered to different municipal structures, but you are welcome to attend any session that fits your schedule. Invite your family or friends to learn with you!
