The Town of Claresholm is now accepting applications for a full-time permanent SENIOR GUARD at the Claresholm Aquatic Centre.

The Senior Full-Time Lifeguard, under the direction of the Recreation Manager, must provide pool and staff supervision to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, and be capable of providing first aid treatment where necessary.  The Senior Full-Time Lifeguard will be responsible for the overall safety of patrons utilizing the pool facilities as well as supervise and mentor Junior Guards. Other responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness of the pool area to ensure safety, as well as taking the lead with programming, scheduling and other administrative duties. The Senior Full-Time Lifeguard must have all required certifications.

The following SEASONAL positions are available with the Town of Claresholm for this summer.

SEASONAL LABOURER
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Seasonal Labourer is responsible for grounds maintenance at various sites within Town limits and will be performing other labour duties as assigned.
Hourly rate: $20.50

GARDENER

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Gardener position is responsible for participating in all aspects of horticultural maintenance and development; ensuring municipal grounds are kept in a safe, well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing state.
Hourly rate: $20.50

The following positions are available with the Claresholm & District Museum for the summer of 2024.

COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT

The Claresholm & District Museum is seeking a reliable, conscientious and motivated student, between 16 and 30 years old and returning to school in the fall, for the position of Communications and Public Relations Assistant. The student must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.  The CPRA must be flexible and well organized in order to perform a variety of tasks each day, including updating and responding on social media, updating the Museum’s website, designing posters or print communication, conducting tours, planning events and assisting the Visitor Experience Lead as needed. 

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ASSISTANT
The Educational Program Assistant will plan and conduct school tours, conduct general tours to   assist with Museum events and outreach programs, develop scripts for existing and future exhibits, create didactics for displays, assist the other staff in various capacities; engage the public visiting the museum buildings, act as a visitor services host as needed, providing information to tourists and the general public.

CLARESHOLM AQUATIC CENTRE - LIFEGUARDS

The Claresholm Aquatic Centre is actively seeking responsible, motivated individuals to fill part-time Junior Lifeguard positions. Hours of operation vary from 5:30am – 9:30pm Monday –Thursday, 5:30am-7:30pm Fridays and are open on weekends, so a variety of shifts would be expected.

Claresholm Fire Department

The Claresholm Fire Department is looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable and capable individuals interested in future opportunities as a volunteer firefighter. Firefighters carry out firefighting and fire prevention activities and assist in other community emergencies. Successful applicants must:

- Be legally entitled to work in Canada. The Fire Chief may request proof of such entitlement. 
- Be able to understand and follow oral and written communication in English.
- Be physically capable of performing assigned duties as a Member.
- Be between the age of eighteen (18) and sixty-five (65) years inclusive. Persons over 65 may continue to serve in specific capacities as approved by the Fire Chief;
- Possess at minimum a valid Class Five (5) Driver's License with no restrictions or conditions.
- Reside within 10 minutes of the Town of Claresholm municipal boundaries.
